Contemporary acoustic solutions are increasingly resembling elements of architecture or applied art. For many participants, this was their first encounter with acoustics that does not resemble a recording studio from the nineties.

Too loud. Too quiet. Too tiring.

Acoustics has the unique characteristic that we usually notice it only when it is lacking. Although we like numbers, measurements, and charts, every day we work with something much more tangible—spaces where people are meant to hear better, work better, and function better.

Sound can be heard. Acoustics must be understood

Why can two rooms of identical square footage sound completely different? How are designs created? How are measurements conducted? More and more people want to design sound, study it, analyze it, and use it to create better spaces.

Jerzy Herse's lectures provided students with an opportunity to confront academic knowledge with everyday design reality. Discussion with people who in a few years will co-create the acoustic industry in Poland is the moment we like most, as it demonstrates that good acoustics is an experience.

Acoustics live

The greatest interest was generated by the presentation combined with listening workshops. We can talk about acoustics for hours, showing charts, characteristics, and measurement results. But sound is best understood when it can simply be heard.

Participants therefore had an excellent opportunity to compare listening conditions in a space equipped with proprietary Nyquista acoustic systems and solutions. The differences required no additional commentary. It was enough to sit, listen, and draw one's own conclusions.

An investment in the future of the industry

Every event that brings together people who want to understand sound more deeply than just through the prism of decibels deserves attention. In March 2019, such a place became the 6th National Student Acoustic Conference OSKA, which took place at the Targi Kielce Congress Centre.
