Environmental measurements

Environmental measurements are used to assess the noise level in the vicinity of buildings, near roads, railway tracks, industrial facilities, or construction sites. Their aim is to determine the impact of noise on the surrounding buildings and compliance with the permissible levels set by regulations.

What do environmental measurements include?

  • Measurement of traffic noise (roads, railway lines, tram lines)

  • Measurement of industrial noise (manufacturing plants, equipment, installations)

  • Measurement of noise in the workplace (machines, technological lines)

  • Analysis of the impact of noise on buildings under acoustic protection

  • Assessment of the effectiveness of acoustic screens and barriers

Why do we perform environmental measurements?

Environmental measurements are conducted to determine the actual level of noise in the vicinity of buildings, near roads, railway lines, industrial plants, or other sources of sound emission. They enable the assessment of the impact of noise on the environment and on objects under acoustic protection, as well as the verification of the effectiveness of applied protections, such as acoustic screens or machine enclosures.

Thanks to the measurement results, an objective assessment of compliance with noise level regulations is possible, as well as determining whether there is a need to introduce additional measures to limit sound emission in a particular location. These studies form the basis of environmental reports and studies, which are required for obtaining administrative decisions or during environmental protection inspections.

How do we perform measurements?

Environmental measurements are carried out in accordance with the applicable PN-ISO standards and guidelines of the relevant ministers' regulations. Each study is conducted based on a verified measurement methodology, taking into account local conditions and the nature of the noise source.

After the measurements are completed, a report is prepared containing detailed measurement data, analysis of results, interpretation, and assessment of compliance with the relevant regulation. The report may also include recommendations for further actions to reduce noise – both in terms of planning new investments and modernizing existing facilities.

These studies constitute the basis for the preparation of environmental impact reports and acoustic analyses required for obtaining administrative decisions.
