Listening rooms and cinemas

Home entertainment space

The project's assumption was that the room would serve several different functions simultaneously: a home theater, a listening room, a rehearsal space, and a billiard room. An additional challenge was the shape of the room itself – sloped ceilings, large windows, and unusual wall proportions. Before starting the design work, detailed acoustic measurements were carried out at various points in the room. This allowed for a highly accurate planning of the adaptation in the individual zones.

The project required the use of many different solutions, yet the interior decor was to be uniform and unobtrusive. The stretch fabric system - NyquiWall, under which most of the adaptation elements were hidden, came to our aid. This room perfectly demonstrates the capabilities of the system. The masking fabric can be found not only on the walls but also on the ceiling, slopes, as well as on the doors. NyquiWall was used to hide perforated fabrics, membrane structures, the screen substructure, as well as audio and lighting cabling. The installation required great precision and the experience of the entire team.

The recesses in the knee walls were used to create tuned bass traps. Additional membrane structures were also located behind the screen. To ensure an even distribution of sound in the room and to eliminate the impact of so-called first reflections from the side walls, a large number of 1D diffusers were used on the slopes. The diffusers were lacquered in the color of the light masking fabric. The specially designed collar for the 1D diffusers allowed for the concealment of ambient LED lighting.
