Audible sound
|
Nyquist Team
We live immersed in a sea of vibrations, but our senses register only a narrow slice of them. Audible sound is that specific part of physics that transcends the barrier of our perception and becomes an impression in the brain.
Professional Definition
> Audible sound – a sound that evokes auditory sensation.
From a technical point of view, it is an acoustic wave whose frequency lies within the audible range (traditionally accepted as 20 Hz – 20,000 Hz).
## Acoustics in Simple Words
Audible sound is only that radio broadcast to which our biological receiver – the ear – is tuned. A dog whistle generates a physical wave, but for a human, it is not "audible sound".
## Summary
Audible sound is a subjective physical category, defined by the capabilities of the human ear.
