Acoustic measurements
The exit point of a great design.
Learn more about acoustic parameters.
We carry out acoustic measurements in accordance with accredited methodology, applicable PN and ISO standards as well as legal regulations. For this purpose, we use certified measuring equipment of the highest class 1. With us you are guaranteed that the acoustic measurements have been made by an authorized entity and in accordance with all requirements.
Each study is completed with an acoustic analysis containing guidelines and design recommendations.
Acoustic insulation measurements
The acoustic measurement of sound insulation allows you to assess how much the wall or ceiling effectively isolates noise coming from another room or from outside. We perform insulation measurements from air and impact sounds of internal and external building partitions. We examine the insulation of individual elements such as: windows, doors, sliding walls or soundproof enclosures.
Acoustic measurements of rooms
We carry out acoustic measurements of noise and reverberation in all types of rooms. These include: offices, conference rooms, auditoriums, concert halls, recording studios, sports halls, schools, museums, or hotels. The parameters to be examined include: reverberation time, speech intelligibility, transparency and clarity of sound, measurement of noise curves, room impulse response and many others.
Acoustic measurements of noise at work
We perform noise measurements in any environment at the workplace. These are performed using the following methods: division into activities, bench measurements as well as all-day measurements. We analyze the working conditions in order to select the appropriate methodology, including determination of the type of noise for particular positions, determination of groups with the same exposure to noise, determination of typical activities during the day or working week.
Noise measurement of installations and equipment
We measure the noise produced by devices and technical equipment of the building. We measure acoustic power, noise measurement from HVAC, sanitary facilities, plumbing, fire, aggregates, pumps, generators, lifts, etc. We prepare an acoustic report including analysis, compliance assessment and design guidelines.
Vibration transfer measurements
The vibration measurements enable us to locate the source of sound and the path of its penetration. We also check the frequency range of noise source vibrations to be able to select the right vibro-insulation solutions. We measure the transmission coefficient of vibrations from technical installations, machines, walls, ceilings or structural elements of a building. We also verify the effectiveness of existing vibroinsulating protections.
Measurements of noise in the environment
We carry out measurements of noise in the outside environment for given times of the day and night. We prepare reports concerning noise protection of existing and planned buildings. We assess the impact of noise on the environment generated by the operation of the premises or external devices (e.g. on the roof of the building). We determine the insulation of external walls and flat roofs. We create acoustic maps of noise levels in the environment.

Acoustic simulations
Acoustic Simulations are a guarantee of the effectiveness of planned solutions.
We carry out simulations in terms of modelling room acoustics (absorption and diffusion of sound), electroacoustics planning (sound systems), determining environmental noise, acoustic insulation calculations for walls, ceilings and the impact of building construction changes. We also make acoustic maps of the area and determine noise values for each floor of the facade.
See other applications of acoustic simulation.
Sound system simulation
Superb Sound in all spaces.
By creating a 3D model of a room, we evaluate the effectiveness of planned audio systems using tools such as: raytracing, auralization, scattering simulation, sound pressure level, etc. Thanks to the acoustic simulation, we can also determine echograms, histograms and reflectometers that show us the impulse response and the sound propagation in a given room.
We create a 3D acoustic model
See how the sound wave propagates.
There is no one universal program for acoustic simulations. Therefore, when modeling a room, we use many advanced programs such as: AFMG EASE; CATT-Acoustic; SONarchitect ISO; Insul; Svan PC ++; SoundPLAN; Matlab; Audiomatica CLIO; Dirac, etc. Thanks to this, we are able to accurately calculate almost all acoustic parameters and listen to the effects of the planned soundproofing of the room, even before its completion.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions.
In the case of planning the acoustic conditions, sound measurements are not always necessarily required. Sometimes simple calculations or computer simulations are enough. There are many types of acoustic measurements. In most cases, their type, manner of execution and application are described in Polish PN, EU and ISO standards. Our acousticians will choose the right measurement method for any given conditions.
First of all, acoustic measurements must be made in accordance with the procedures and with the use of appropriate equipment, the specificity of which is defined in line with acoustic standards. When testing reverberation and insulation, it is advisable to ensure the lowest possible noise level, in other words the so-called acoustic background. Noise measurements are best performed in the evening or at night.
In the case of measurements at workstations, one should first determine the appropriate methodology of measurements, depending on the nature of the work performed.
The term “measurement analysis” can be interpreted differently. The minimum requirements for what should be included in such a report are set by law and regulations. Our analysis of acoustic measurements, in addition to the necessary minimum in the form of calculations, data analysis and compliance with regulations, includes guidelines for the project. The price of acoustic measurements also involves consultations and assistance in solving specific problems.
Yes, provided that the acoustic measurements are made in accordance with the applicable standards and legal regulations and by the authorized entity. Some types of acoustic measurements may only be performed by entities with appropriate accreditation. Nyquista performs all kinds of acoustic measurements in accordance with accredited methods. We also provide legal and substantive assistance. We provide support in the case of contact and negotiations with other entities.
Measurements and acoustic simulations are priced on an individual basis. The price depends on the size of the investment, the number of rooms, the type and the complexity of the project. In order to get an accurate quote, it is best to consult our acoustician or send us current investment plans with a description of the problem.
According to the Polish PN-B-02151 standard, each newly constructed building must meet certain acoustic requirements. In the case of buildings with the basic standard, the minimum requirements are specified in part 2-4 of the above mentioned standards. For residential buildings of a higher standard, the requirements are set out in part 5 of these regulations. In order to verify whether a given building/ apartment meets the current legal requirements, acoustic measurements should be made with the use of appropriate equipment and methods specified in the standards.
There are many acoustic insulation systems. Unfortunately, there is no one universal solution. First of all, you should specify the source, type and precisely indicate the sound transmission path. For this purpose, acoustic measurements are usually required. Sometimes it may seem that the noise is coming, for example, through the ceiling, whereas the root of the problem is a façade wall, structural pillars or a ventilation system.
Acoustic simulation involves creating a computer model of a given room / building or its surroundings, and then entering various variables into this model such as building materials, finishing elements, acoustic panels, virtual sound sources or changing their position. Thanks to this, we can properly plan the insulation, acoustic adaptation or sound system before the completion of the investment.
Yes, current computer programs allow us to simulate almost all acoustic parameters, e.g. wall insulation, noise from technical installations, speech intelligibility or sound dispersion. The earlier we start planning the appropriate acoustic conditions, the lower the risk of defects and problems at a later stage. Acoustic simulation is often the only chance to avoid architectural mistakes, the improvement of which at a later stage can be expensive or even impossible at times.
We use many computer programs for our simulations, such as: AFMG EASE; CATT-Acoustic; SONarchitect ISO; Insul; Svan PC ++; SoundPLAN; Matlab; Audiomatica CLIO; Dirac and others. As a result, we are able to simulate almost all acoustic parameters in a virtual environment.
As a rule, the earlier we take into account the acoustic conditions of a given premises, the better. Starting from the location of the building, the construction materials used, and ending with the design of technical installations and interior design, each stage is important. Regardless of which stage you are in, we will advise you on the most effective solutions possible.
First of all, we verify the compliance of the planned investment with the applicable acoustic regulations and standards. We assess potential threats and acoustic problems that may occur during implementation. We advise on which effective materials and acoustic solutions to use and prepare an initial cost estimate. We carry out acoustic simulations for selected rooms or the entire building. If necessary, we supervise the correct implementation of the project.
If you have questions or concerns regarding acoustic issues, you can call us, write or arrange a non-binding meeting. We will be happy to answer you as much as we can. In the case of more complex projects, we offer paid consultations, acoustic design or supervision over the implementation of a given investment.
We deal with all issues related to building acoustics and interior acoustics such as: acoustic theory, measurements, legal regulations and standards, acoustics design, insulation, vibroisolation, acoustic adaptation, building materials, acoustic panels and mats, sound system, interior design, case studies. The scope and subject matter of the training is always adapted to the needs of the recipient. It is you who decides to what extent and what issues you want to learn.
Yes, trainings are organized for groups and companies for a fee. The price of the training depends on the size of the group and the time we want to devote to the given training (from several hours to several days of training). In order to get an accurate quote, please contact us and we will definitely prepare a personalized offer for you.
