Health begins with silence

Health begins with silence

We are happy to share the news about the opening of a special place called Healing Minds. It is a space designed with the person in mind, their emotions, focus, and sense of safety. Natural materials, refined details, and thoughtful acoustics together create an atmosphere that can be felt even before the conversation begins.

We are happy to share the news about the opening of a special place called Healing Minds. It is a space designed with the person in mind, their emotions, focus, and sense of safety. Natural materials, refined details, and thoughtful acoustics together create an atmosphere that can be felt even before the conversation begins.

Silence is the foundation

One of the most underrated elements in designing psychological offices is… sound.

In a therapeutic space, a conversation is not just an exchange of words. It is a process in which someone often decides for the first time in their life to say something difficult. And it is at that moment, like never before, that they need trust and silence, because even the coziest interior loses its meaning if a fragment of the conversation can be heard in the hallway.

Privacy is not a luxury

Design standards clearly indicate that rooms designated for confidential conversations should achieve sound insulation of no less than 50 dB. This is the threshold beyond which conversation stops penetrating further.

In practice, this means one thing: if the space is not properly designed acoustically — privacy is illusory. And illusory privacy is a real barrier. A patient who for even a moment wonders whether someone outside the office can hear them:

  • says less,

  • filters their statements

  • and does not go deeper

At this moment, the process of therapy completely loses its quality.

Conscious design is responsibility

Nyquista is responsible for the concept, design, and implementation of Healing Minds. This is a project where it was clear from the beginning that we were not going to make any compromises, and the proposed acoustic solutions were implemented as a complementary system. The key aspects include especially:

  • acoustic doors

  • properly designed partitions (walls)

  • and control over sound transmission between rooms

A new standard for health spaces

Healing Minds shows the direction in which contemporary interiors related to health and wellbeing are heading. This is an important signal for the entire industry because, in medical and therapeutic spaces, acoustics is still too often treated as a secondary element. This is a mistake! Noise and lack of privacy have a real impact on people:

  • increase tension

  • hinder concentration

  • lower the quality of communication

  • create distance instead of trust

If we want to talk about modern standards of care, it is time to start taking sound seriously. A well-designed acoustic environment is a difference that is felt immediately — even if we can't name it.

Acoustics that support humanity

At Nyquista, we believe that well-designed acoustics is a real value, especially where:

  • work is done with emotions

  • confidential conversations are held

  • focus and safety are needed

Therefore, if you are creating:

  • an office

  • a clinic

  • a therapeutic space

  • or any other place requiring concentration

Design with your ears and look at sound as seriously as you do at appearance.
